1. Overview
Mino is designed with privacy as a foundational principle. Your notes are stored on servers you control, and the mino.ink web client is a thin interface that does not process or store your content.
2. Data We Collect
The mino.ink web client collects no personal data. All preferences (theme, language, server connections) are stored locally in your browser's localStorage and are never transmitted to Mino's infrastructure. If you sign in with Google (optional), we store only your email address and the list of servers you've linked — never your note content.
3. Data Processing
All note content is processed entirely by your self-hosted Mino server. The mino.ink web client acts as a passthrough — API requests go directly from your browser to your server. Mino's infrastructure never sees, processes, or stores your note data.
4. Data Storage
Notes are stored as plain .md files on your server's file system. The SQLite index database is also stored on your server. No note data is ever stored on mino.ink's infrastructure unless you opt into the free managed tier, in which case data is stored on our servers with encryption at rest.
5. Third-Party Services
Fonts are self-hosted and served from mino.ink itself, so no request leaves your browser for a font CDN. AI providers: if you configure an agent, API keys and requests go directly from your server to the provider you chose; Mino neither proxies nor logs them. Launch list: the signup form is operated on Mailspool, a self-hosted email service, which stores the address you submit and sends the notification.
6. Your Rights (DSGVO/GDPR)
Under the DSGVO/GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data, rectify inaccurate data, erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Since Mino stores almost no personal data on its infrastructure, most of these rights are automatically satisfied. 7. Data Minimization
In compliance with DSGVO Article 5(1)(c), Mino collects only the minimum data necessary for its function. We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or any other surveillance technology.
8. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting the mino.ink managed tier, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by DSGVO Article 33. Self-hosted users are responsible for their own server security.

10. Launch list
If you join the launch list we store the email address you enter, and optionally your first name, what you plan to use Mino for, and the page you signed up from. We use it to send one email when Mino launches and for nothing else: no newsletter, no profiling, no sharing, no selling. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Submissions are processed by Mailspool on a server operated by the project. Your address is deleted when you unsubscribe or when the list closes, whichever comes first, and you can ask for deletion at any time by replying to any email from us. Every email the list sends carries a one-click unsubscribe link.
